In order to thank all our guests and staff, we created an original song that included melodies from several popular tunes, which we performed live at the reception.
Behind the Scenes
A lot of couples put their time into learning a choreographed dance to perform in front of everyone. Since the 2 of us both have backgrounds in being in bands, we thought it would be a great idea to write our own songs and sing directly to our audience. Instead of choosing predictable love or pop songs to parody, we decided to use songs no one would ever expect, like "Colors of the Wind" and "Waterfalls," and "All the Small Things." But the most impactful part of all this was the closing segment set to "Hey Jude," where we invited everyone in the room to sing along with us. It was really a magical experience.
